ARTISTIC POTTERY
The artistic working process of pottery is a further confirmation of Cornelio Cappellini's multi-material approach to the choice of materials. Each piece, after being moulded with extraordinary artistic skill, is dried and put in the oven for the first baking that determines the hardening of the raw material. A second baking process defines the final colour, creating unique pieces, always different from each other.
HIGH TECH PRODUCTION PROCESSES
Technologically advanced production processes are often associated with artistic techniques. The use of high tech machineries allows Cornelio Cappellini a great precision in the realization of individual components destined to be assembled with other parts of the same product.
NATURAL LEATHERS
All Cornelio Cappellini leathers, carefully selected, are of bovine origin and they are characterized by a very soft-touch and a clearly visible natural grain. Nabuk is the most demanded and appreciated leather, thanks to a wide assortment of trendy colours.
HAND-BLOWN GLASS
Blown glass is one of the characteristic elements of some products of Hessentia collection. Each blown glass item is distinguished from the others by its uniqueness and it is practically impossible to make two products that look exactly the same. Many traditional techniques are handed down by the master-glassmakers operating in the Venice area, who are entrusted with the production for Cornelio Cappellini.
NATURAL WOOD
Wood is a living material, perfect to make every product exclusive and not replicable thanks to the intrinsic uniqueness of the material itself. When the master-craftsman cuts solid wood and veneer, he enhances the different veins and natural shades of this material.
DECORATIVE FABRICS
The search for sophisticated fabrics is one of the main elements in every interior design project by Cornelio Cappellini. A wide range of materials, from pure cotton velvet to ‘pastel’ effect one, from geometric fabrics to three-dimensional ones, is constantly updated following the latest market trends.
PRECIOUS MARBLES
The continuous search for precious and rare Marbles is the basis for the creation of products with a strong personality. Over time, Cornelio Cappellini has used marbles of Italian origin, such as Calacatta Oro and Fior di Pesco, but also others from overseas countries. Both Patagonia and Ocean Storm marbles, carefully selected for their intrinsic peculiarities, have become characteristic elements of some products of Hessentia collection.
METAL
Metals, initially used as structural elements, have assumed a decorative role in the creation of several products of the collection Hessentia. Brushed bronze finish, currently highly appreciated on the international market, has been added to shiny chrome and shiny gold finishes. The continuous search for new finishes has led to the development of further metal working methods such as engraving or frosting technique.

Even today the casting of brass or bronze is carried out through an ancient and sophisticated process in sand mold, from which the piece is extracted and undergoes a subsequent phase of finishing and polishing.
textile texture
Taking inspiration from lacquering techniques handed down by past generations, Cornelio Cappellini’s “master decorators” have developed new decorative effects to be applied to the surfaces of some items, such as Bridge storage unit. The exclusive lacquering “textile texture” effect perfectly shows this artistic skill, which is still present in the company and applied to our collections with contemporary design.
sculpture and minimalism
For the first time, in its continuous search for new materials and new construction techniques, Cornelio Cappellini has used “concrete”: a completely unusual choice in furniture manufacturing. This material is molded completely by hand, to create legs of storage units and poufs, giving them an amorphous look. The irregularity of the surfaces creates an elegant contrast with the other materials used in combination, such as metal. The results of this handmade technique are masterpieces so appreciated by contemporary art galleries, such as the pieces of Blade collection, intended for customers always looking for unique products.
circular mosaic
Piece by piece, the master-craftsman inlays and combines with each other several smaller and smaller circular ash wood tiles, creating real artworks without depending on industrial machinery processes. This technique is used exclusively for some storage units of Grant collection.
precious resin
Through its “master decorators”, Cornelio Cappellini continues to offer its own personal interpretation in the use of resin combined with other materials. In the collection of table Lineup, the resin-based finishing process plays a dual role, inspiring both preciousness and uniqueness. Each table top is unique, always different from the previous ones.
jewellery technique
The skillful manual ability in metal engraving is inspired by a technique of Italian luxury jewellery. In the armchairs of Faraday collection the artisan-artist has been able to soften the austerity typical of a metal structure, making it lighter and more elegant.
nature strength
This handmade technique, inspired by the nature around us, is the result of the designer’s artistic expression. A thin sheet of metal is modelled on a supporting structure to create a surface with a strong three-dimensionality, emphasized by a chromatic treatment that enhances its texture. This texture is available in different chromatic shades for the tables of Cheope collection.

For many years the company has collaborated with the Masters of glass art in the area of Venice. The collection of tables “Miller” highlights the great skill of these artists, who have learnt the ancient techniques of Murano and have handed them down from generation to generation. The glass top was born from the desire of the company to experiment with a completely unconventional product, reinterpreting a millennial tradition in a modern key. The production difficulties of a pouring process aimed at obtaining a large and thick glass top makes this piece a unique element. The top looks smooth to the touch on the upper surface but it is given a “visual sense of movement” by the reflections in the lower surface.
wise craftmanship
The leather upholstery of a curved surface is the expression of a great manual skill, able to shape this natural material. This technique is clearly visible in Cannes armchairs and sofas, where a series of elements in curved multilayer wood, with oval-shaped section, are covered in leather by skilled craftsmen.

One of the most modern artistic intuitions is related to the rhinoceros figure. The artwork is the result of a physical transposition, achieved through the section method. This transposition actually immobilizes the figure in a seemingly stable position, also characterized by the choice of a burly animal. The meaning of the artwork is evident. The artist instills the doubt through the real condition of the animal.

The fundamental concept is the sign, the act of tracing the cut at the exact moment of inspiration. The artwork represents the cosmos, an infinite and pure space from the spectator’s point of view. ‘Geisha’ consists of the concrete representation of this enigmatic symbol, which has a leading role in mysterious, ancient stories. The female figure is barely drafted as a modern mask with oriental features. The heart of this sculpture is the contrast between the Block of rough material and the harmonious aspect of the woman. The unrefined block represents the starting point of each artist, the primordial element which evolves, showing the beauty hidden inside it.
